Maya Trial: In a pinch, you can get the 30 day trial to the full version of Maya 2020.A full year of unrestricted access, and don't have to compete for a license at any given time. Maya Indie License: Recommended for Alumni: Autodesk now offers an indie license for Maya for $265/year.They seem to change their policies frequently though, so it can be worth giving a shot. However they have become much more strict over the last few years. Educational Licenses: You may attempt to download a free educational license of Maya from Autodesk via their educational portal.Existing Licenses: If you already have an existing 1-year (or longer) license from Autodesk for Maya, you can continue using that.All our rigs and demonstrations use Maya. Now that you are logged in and licensed it will work.To ensure the best learning experience within our curriculum, we recommend that you use Autodesk Maya. The render will fail due to no available licensing, but will give a prompt to login to Maxon One. Having launched Maya however your normally would: Recommended: Complete registration of your Maxon One account within the first week of class. Then, Maxon One will send an email to your email and you will need to complete registration for the licensing and set a password. Note: Licensing is limited, so license access will not be granted to students outside key programs.Īs a student enrolled in a program requiring Maya/Redshift, your program will register your account for you. This will allow students better access to Redshift licensing outside the classroom.
Licenses have been moved to Maxon One Teams licensing, which allows for a floating pool of licenses instead of 1:1 allocation to devices. To better support flexible licensing use on BYOD devices, implementation of the Redshift licensing changed in December, 2022.
